esmeiolantheThe wonderful and talented joandsarah77 has been extracting my Sims from my dying neighborhood for me. Since this makes them shareable with other people too, I am putting them up for grabs in case anybody wants them. (Also in case things go kablooey again and I need them for myself. It never hurts to be prepared!)
Methodology: Jo repaired borked genetics in SimPE and then extracted the Sims. She sent them to me, and I cloned them in my own BodyShop. I am uploading my clean clones; they should be perfectly safe for your game. For Sims uploaded on or after August 3, 2014, I both extracted and cloned them.
Content: All Sims are uploaded with base game clothing and hair, with the exception of their outerwear. Outerwear is not base game compatible; it requires Seasons. I have a post-Pets version of BodyShop, which I understand means that the Sims may not work if you have a lower version. Download at your own risk.
Installation: To get these Sims in your game, place the file in your SavedSims folder. They will show up in the "Choose Existing Sims" section of CAS or near the front of your BodyShop. In both cases, they will have a custom content star.
Information: Links are below to a post for each individual Sim. The post contains all the stats you will need for an accurate recreation, including personality, aspiration, and turn ons/turn offs. It also has a picture of each Sim. On the left of the picture is the Sim as you are used to seeing them. On the right is the Sim with their base game clothing and hair. Some Sims look very different, so please look at the pictures carefully! Whenever possible, I have included links to any custom content you will need to make the Sim look like themselves again.
Genetics: None of these Sims come with recessive genes. This is a by-product of the cloning process, and is completely unavoidable if you want to prevent game corruption. (I do, and I'm sure you do too.) I've included information about what each Sim's recessive genes should be. If you have SimPE, you can set them yourself. If you don't have/can't use SimPE, you can restore recessive genetics in CAS if you're willing to spend a little time on the project. I've written a tutorial here about the process, and it's what I'll be doing myself.
Dominant genes are recorded in all caps, with recessives in all lowercase. For example "BROWN/gray," means that when you look at the Sim, you see brown eyes, but their children might have gray eyes instead.
Small Print: If a Sim interests you, feel free to grab them! I don't have a vested interest in what you do with them, or whether you stick to the character as I've written them or not. My viewpoint is "Meh, it's all alternate universes anyway," so have fun! (That said, I'm pretty nosy, and I'd love an update/link/picture/what-have-you if you do snag someone.)
