Permaplat Challenge Rules

No, I'm not talking about achieving a Lifetime Want, or maxing out the meter that came with Free Time. This is something I have attempted multiple times, and at which I have always failed miserably.
It's very simple: Keep one Sim in platinum aspiration their entire life, from Toddler to Death. (I don't know if babies can go platinum, so they don't count.) You have 24 hours after the Sim becomes a Toddler to hit platinum the first time. There is an automatic dip out of platinum when transitioning from Toddler to Child; you have 18 hours after the Sim becomes a Child to reach platinum again. After that, if they dip out of platinum for any length of time, no matter what the reason is, you lose.
You may not do the following:
-Fulfill their LTW
-Fill up their Free Time meter*
-Use the genie
-Use strawberry lemonade
-Use the setaspirationlevel cheat code
*If you have Free Time, please see the note below.

You may do anything else you would like, including sending your Sim on constant dates, to community lots, or doing anything else that might cause them to reroll easier to fill Wants. Use a born-in-game Sim or a CAS Sim, start on whatever size lot you would like, buy whatever you (or the Sim) would like, and don't worry about the proportion of bad memories to good ones -- just keep that aspiration in platinum!
Should you decide that you want to write up this challenge, I recommend deliberately showing your Sim's platinum plumbbob at all times.
There is no scoring for this challenge, because it is very easy to lose. However, if you manage to complete it, you can declare yourself to be the Ultimate Simming God. (Or the Ultimate Simming Goddess, if you prefer.

If you do have Free Time, and you can keep your Sim in platinum using this method until their lifetime meter fills up, then you can declare yourself a Simming God (or Goddess) -- just not the Ultimate variety. Feel free to use any mods/hacks you like that inhibit the filling of the lifetime meter.

Date: 2012-08-04 06:34 pm (UTC)I remember we were talking about this earlier, and I believe my sims would make this challenge, as it stands, impossible, as all or nearly all of them drop out of platinum when age transitioning, despite being very high platinum when the transition starts, and the time not being anywhere near an even hour. (I purposedly watched closely as the next toddler aged in my game, and this was exactly what happened. They even got aspiration points for growing up well, and went from high platinum to gold for no other apparent reason than the transition.)
I don't know if it's just what my game does (it's always done this) but if not, you might consider amending the rules for that - perhaps a time period to get back to platinum if a transition "unfairly" drops you to gold or something? :) It's not as cool as staying in platinum all the time but...

Date: 2012-08-04 06:44 pm (UTC)I'd never noticed that happening in my game, and I haven't paid attention since, so I don't know if it's all games or just yours. However, I will keep an eye out for it now. If it's something that's unavoidably programmed into the game, then I agree that the rules should be tweaked a bit. Most of my Sims tend to transition in gold and then shoot up to platinum with the fulfillment of the 'Grow Up Well" want, so I'll have to run some experiments.
In the event that the game unfairly drops a Sims out of platinum as a matter of course, how long do you think sounds fair to get them back to platinum? I'm thinking two or three game hours, since they should be pretty close already, but I'm open to suggestions.

Date: 2012-08-04 07:01 pm (UTC)I'd tend to agree that something fairly short, at least my experience is that they'll be in fairly high gold after the transition when it happens. If you give toddlers 24 hours to get platinum, then at most that, probably less. Toddlers tend to have sort of easy wants compared to older sims (though on the other hand they start in green while presumably older sims in this challenge will be in gold), so maybe a bit more than 2 to 3 hours still. Eeny meeny miney mo... 12? (Now that sounds too much, oh I don't know...) Depends on how hard a challenge you want to make it, too. :)

Date: 2012-08-04 08:17 pm (UTC)I haven't got any sims ready to transition just yet (except for one baby-to-toddler, which doesn't count) but I will keep you posted!

Date: 2012-08-05 06:40 am (UTC)My born-in-game sims, who tend to be fairly high in aspiration whenever I can help it (when they drop to green I'm already looking for ways to fullfill some wants for them), tend to get the meter full a bit after graduating college. So unless they are loaded with skillpoints and get really lucky with the paper/computer, they tend to get permaplat before I'm able to have them fullfill a career-related LTW. So I'd say that if you were to keep a sim platinum all the time and you have FT, then you would end up filling up the lifetime meter, possibly sometime in college.
