Dramatis personae
Rowena Hartford, who plays the aptly-named Silent Lady on the popular show Goldberg & Silent Lady
Richard Tellerman, who plays morose detective Goldberg on the same show
Jimmy-Bob McCletus III, who plays the arrogant elf-lod AElfric Thornleaf on the same show

Background
The cast and crew of Goldberg & Silent Lady have set up a pool: $100 each, with the whole going to the person who can get Rowena to talk.
RICHARD: Lava! The floor is hot lava!
Rowena grimaces and hops quickly from foot to foot.
RICHARD: Really hot. Like boiling hot. And it's rising quick quick quick!
Rowena takes a standing jump onto a chair. Across the room, Jimmy-Bob's phone goes off.
RICHARD: But look! Here comes someone in a lava-proof boat! (begins making "poling" motions, like he's piloting a gondola) Maybe he could give you a lift to safety.
Rowena waves frantically, making tiny hops up and down on the chair. Jimmy-Bob studies his phone and smiles briefly.
RICHARD: Oh, what I pity I'm looking the other way! (turns head away ostentatiously) However will you attract my attention?
Rowena puts her fingers to her lips and produces and ear-splitting whistle of the taxi-summoning variety. Jimmy-Bob stands and starts towards her, still looking at his phone. Rowena glares at him.
RICHARD: Hey, watch it! That's lava!
Jimmy-Bob ignores both of them, turning his phone so Rowena can see the screen. Rowena squints and tilts her head.
ROWENA: Oh my ESME! Eeeeeeeeee! (throwing her arms around Jimmy-Bob's neck) Signed! Finally signed!
Richard comes over, cross at the interruption.
RICHARD: What? What is it?
Jimmy-Bob holds out the phone, too busy kissing Rowena to talk. Richard takes it and looks at the screen.
RICHARD: Censor blur, she finally signed the divorce papers? Corrupted files, that's great! I'm happy for you two. But break it up now -- I have some money to win.
Jimmy-Bob looks up, slightly dazed.
JIMMY-BOB: You ain't the one made her talk. Money's mine.
