I was trying to follow your instructions to have blank templates; you seemed to be saying this would STOP the generation of townies by removing the "hood/subhood in question". You gave an example as {C-drive//]Open for Business [etc]neighborhood template/B001/B001 Neighborhood file- and to remove that last one. Not having something named exactly that, I removed "B001 Neighborhood.package" QUESTION: This is not a stealth hood, but what is required to add a business hood to a main hood. And I WANTED to have that business hood. So I don't understand if I did the wrong thing, or that was what you had in mind, because B001 is what generates townies.And you said later "If I attach a shoping hood, nothing in particular happens"..I would have to be attaching a custom shopping hood, as B001 has been taken out..I assume that "nothing happens" means that no townies would be generated.
Then you said: For Seasons, you'd go to Cdrive/program files/EAGames/TheSims2 Seasons Folder. Meaning you would take out the whole Seasons folder? You said the same thing for BonVoyage. This actually sounds clear enough; I understand that if I already have these hoods installed those hoods would not be affected. And the fact that I have remove the whole EP keeps it from creating townies.. QUESTION IS: I thought that townies (AND specific sims in the bin) were created by stealth hoods, which are actually a separate file in the main EP folder (as, the B002 "hood" inside the Neighborhood template for Open for Business, where the REAL hood - B001 - is located.
Therefore, I would think you would have to remove ALL the hoods (which contain the townie&bin sims); but you said ""You can remove all of them, one of them, or some..."
What I DID was remove the neighborhood.package from all hoods EXCEPT: A001, M001,T001 V001 THE RESULT (creating a new hood) no bin-sims, but all the usual townies generated. NOTE: I didn't discover until yesterday that B001 business hood was not available to add.
